Under Construction

     The Navy's tenth and last Nimitz class nuclear powered carrier, the USS George H. W. Bush, is currently under construction.

Historic Carriers

   This is a memorial site honoring the first carrier Lexington, CV-2. Some good photographs of the Lexington can be found here.

     After 41 years of commissioned service, and completing 21 deployments, the USS Constellation (CV-64) was decommissioned in San Diego at the Naval Air Station North Island on 7 August 2003.

   The carrier Forrestal was home ported at NAS Pensacola just prior to its decommissioning. This is a link to an organization committed to preserving the memory and spirit of the Forrestal.

  Efforts to save the USS Forrestal and bring the Nation's First "Super Carrier" to the port of Baltimore are moving forward!

  This is the home page of the U.S.S. Intrepid (CV-11, CVA-11, CVS-11) Association. The carrier Intrepid is now a floating museum located at Manhattan's Pier 86.

   The first carrier named Enterprise was the most decorated warship of World War II. Unfortunately it did not escape the scrappers torch. A special exhibit honoring the Enterprise can be seen at the National Museum of Naval Aviation located aboard NAS Pensacola.

   This site is devoted to the memory of the two carriers name Yorktown, CV-5 and CV-10. The first Yorktown was sunk at the battle of Midway and was recently located at a depth of 15,000 feet.
